About
About White Men Bridging
We’re gathering white men who are ready to get uncomfortable and honest about race, power, and belonging in the U.S. This is about facing how we’ve been shaped by systems we didn’t create, owning the responsibility we do have, and deciding whether we’ll use it to close divides or keep them in place.
The work will take us into privilege and identity, individualism and “deservingness,” the clash between “Black Lives Matter” and “all lives matter,” and the everyday ways “othering” shows up. We’ll look at what happens when we feel threatened, what adaptive leadership demands, and how accountability has to reach beyond the room.
The goal isn’t guilt or easy fixes. It’s building the courage and clarity to help create a future where fairness isn’t up for debate—and where everyone has a real shot at belonging.
The Experience
We're launching a 1-year peer learning program this December. Think of it as civic engagement—we're building a learning space where we can have the tough conversations needed to create a society that works for everyone.
Here's how it works: Monthly 90-minute group discussions covering our experiences with race, Black experiences, and what it means to be white men in America. You'll get reading and video assignments before each session to fuel our conversations. The focus is on what we're each learning—from the materials and from talking with each other, both in sessions and beyond.
Our commitment is to cultivate an environment of trust, commitment, vulnerability, openness, curiosity, joy, and non-defensiveness. We are providing people with good data, valuable tools, and access to solid emotional and somatic awareness. The atmosphere will be a mix of safety and courage. "Failure" is okay, even encouraged (that's how we learn). We expect to get out of it what we put into it, and we will ask each of us to participate fully.
